The mission: Your story in Brisbane

Learn about colonial Brisbane in 1830, as a convict, wrongfully accused, setting out on a quest for justice.

You're armed with a mysterious journal and cryptic clues, having to navigate a web of corruption, and betrayal within the colony.

Determined to seek your freedom, you must decipher codes, forge alliances, and confront your accusers in a trial that will decide your fate and shape the colony's future.

Each site visited is historically accurate.

Moreton Bay penal history

A convict settlement behind the fictional fight for justice

The Moreton Bay penal settlement moved to the Brisbane River in 1825 and became known for harsh punishment and forced labor. Surviving places such as the Old Windmill and Commissariat Store connect central Brisbane with that period. This quest uses the documented penal colony as the setting for an original justice story; its protagonist and case are fictional.

It was lots of fun, and we saw so many places in Brisbane that we hadn't known about before, even though we are locals. It was a great way to learn about our history.
