It starts at The President's House Site at 6th St and Market St and finishes at the National Constitution Center, 525 Arch St. It does not return to the start, so plan your onward journey from the Constitution Center end of the park.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take about an hour, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers roughly 2.2 km through Independence National Historical Park, passing stops such as the Liberty Bell Center, the American Philosophical Society library, Congregation Mikveh Israel and Benjamin Franklin's final resting place.
Is it suitable for kids?
It suits school-age children who enjoy hunting for answers. The clues come from historical markers about who, what, where, when and how the Republic was born. Children under 12 should play with a parent guiding them, since some markers need careful reading.
Do we need to go inside the buildings or museums?
No. Entering the places is not part of the experience. The puzzles are solved from the historical markers and what you can see outside, so you can play without visiting the interiors. Two garden clues, at the Thomas Jefferson Garden and the Signer's Garden, are temporarily suspended.
Can we play as a group and start whenever we like?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on a phone. There is no set start time and no guide to meet, so you can begin when you arrive at The President's House Site, pause along the way and continue later.
