The experience

About this quest

The enemies are at the gates. Brasov needs you.

In this self-guided walking tour of Brasov's Old Town, you play a medieval scout soldier racing to prepare the city's defenses before the siege begins. Your mission: arm the bastions, protect the children, secure the food supply, and poison the enemy's water before retreating to the hilltop fortress.

Walk the medieval walls of Kronstadt from the inside out, visiting the Black Church, the Blacksmiths' Bastion, the Black Tower, the White Tower, the Graft Bastion, and the Guard Fortress on Straja Hill.

One of the most immersive things to do in Brasov, this medieval Brasov walking tour combines real history, fortress architecture, and a time-pressured mission that only ends when the gate closes behind you.

Frequently asked questions

What do you do in Part II of the siege story?
You play a medieval scout racing to ready the city before the siege begins. Your tasks are to arm the bastions, protect the children, secure the food supply and poison the enemy's water, then retreat to the hilltop fortress. At each stop the app tells the place's story and sets a puzzle.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Rasta Bar Jamaica and finishes at Cetățuia de pe Strajă, so it does not end where it began. In between you pass Restaurantul Cerbul Carpatin, the Johannes Honterus monument, Bastionul fierarilor, Turnul Negru, Turnul alb, Bastionul Graft and Rudolf.
How long does it take, and do we need to book a time?
Most players take just over two hours for the 3.4 km, walking and puzzles included. There is no time slot to book: start whenever you like, and pause and continue later if needed. It is best played in daylight rather than at night.
Is it good for kids?
Yes, it is tagged as kid friendly, and the scout mission of guarding the city suits school-age children who can follow the puzzles and walk 3.4 km over about two hours, including the final stretch up to the hilltop fortress.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on the route. There is no guide or other group to join, so you set your own pace and solve the puzzles together at each stop.
What is The Warning Before the Siege Part II about?
This is the second part of a fictional medieval siege mission. You play a scout preparing Brasov’s defenses, supplies and bastions before retreating to the hilltop fortress.
Which Brasov landmarks does Part II include?
The route begins on Strada Michael Weiss and passes the Black Church, Blacksmiths’ Bastion, Black Tower, White Tower and Graft Bastion before finishing at Cetățuia on Straja Hill.
Can I play Part II without Part I?
Yes. It has its own route and game page. Playing Part I first gives the two-part story more context, but it is not required to begin Part II.
