It is a self-guided quest played on your phone. The app leads you from Venice Beach Skatepark along the boardwalk past Muscle Beach, over the canals and up to the commercial centre. It tells the story of each place and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you.
Where does the walk start and finish?
It starts at Venice Beach Skatepark and finishes at the Rainbow Crosswalk in Venice, so it does not return to the start. The route covers about 2.9 km, with stops including L.A. Louver, a canals bridge, the Abbot Kinney Memorial Branch Library and The Brig.
How long does it take?
Most players take about an hour and 45 minutes, including walking and solving the puzzles. You can pause the game at any point and continue later, so you can stop for food or a look around the canals without losing your progress.
