YOUR FAMILY’S NEXT ADVENTURE

A little curiosity goes a long way.

On the night of October 27th, the walls between worlds grow thin.

You are Dante Alighieri, returned to Florence as a spirit with a mission: prove that everything you wrote in the Divine Comedy was true.

Guided through the city's most haunted locations by your old companion Virgil, and later by the skeptic poet Cecco d'Ascoli, you follow a route from Piazza Santissima Annunziata to Palazzo Vecchio and the Bargello chapel.

Each stop is linked to the dark side of Florentine history: a bride cursed to wait forever at an open window, a mother who sold her child to the devil, a man who fell from the Duomo and left a cursed mark on the pavement, and the woman pressed forever into the stones of Santa Maria Maggiore.

This outdoor escape game takes you through the real streets of Florence with a story running underneath them. No actors, no costumes.

Just the city at night, and the questions Dante never got to answer in life.

Is this for you?

Who it's for

Adults who know Dante, or are curious about him, get a night walk of about 2 km through central Florence, playing the poet's returning spirit as Virgil leads you past the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio and the Bargello. Couples and friends who want ghost stories with a literary thread rather than cheap scares will enjoy it most. With its curses and grim history it is tagged not for kids, so families should pick a lighter route.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a ghost tour of Florence?
Yes, in self-guided form. Each stop is tied to the dark side of Florentine history, such as a bride cursed to wait forever. Virgil, and later the skeptic poet Cecco d'Ascoli, guide you through the story. There is no live guide. Your phone leads the way and sets a puzzle at each place.
How far is the walk and how long does it take?
The route covers about 2 km and takes around 75 minutes, including the stories and puzzles at each stop. You can pause at any point and continue later, so you can stop for a drink or dinner along the way.
Where does it start and which places does it visit?
It starts at Palazzo Grifoni, by Piazza Santissima Annunziata. The route then passes San Michele Visdomini, Piazza del Duomo, Santa Maria Maggiore, Palazzo Vecchietti, Palazzo Vecchio and the Bargello, all in the historic centre.
Is it suitable for children?
No. The quest is tagged not for kids and falls under horror and haunts, with stories of curses, punishment and the darker chapters of Florence's past. It is written for adults, especially those with an interest in Dante's Divine Comedy.
Do we need to book a time, and when is it best to play?
No booking is needed. You can start whenever you like, though the walk is tagged best at night, which suits its story of the night when the walls between worlds grow thin. One ticket covers your whole group, so you can play together.
What’s the mood of this game—more horror or poetic mystery?

It’s poetic mystery with a dark edge. You get ghost stories, curses, haunted squares—but it leans more toward atmospheric chills, not jump-scares (unless you choose to imagine them 😏).

Could this be a memorable date night?

Definitely. Walking past Palazzo Vecchio under lamplight, chasing Dante’s shadows, pausing at ancient piazzas—this adds romance plus intrigue. Perfect if you want something emotionally rich, not just dinner.

When should I play it—afternoon or at night?

Evening is way better. The route gets atmospheric when the sun goes down—moonlight on the Duomo, shadows in the alleys, the hush around piazzas brings out the eerie beauty.
