Storyline

It’s the end of your first day working as a guide at the Hyde Park Barracks. The rooms are dark and empty, but it feels like you’re not alone.

As you lock the front door, someone taps your shoulder. Turning around, you see a ghostly figure in a long white dress. Her face is wrinkled with age and worry.

“You have to help me find my son,” she says.

“Who are you?” you ask, your voice shaking. “Why do you need my help?”

She drifts across the courtyard. Curious, you follow her.

Frequently asked questions

Is this quest scary or too intense for people who don’t like horror?

It leans more spooky and atmospheric than full horror. The stories are ghostly, sad, and mysterious, not gory. If you’re okay with legends and quiet chills, this is your kind of game.

Want a spooky adventure under the moonlight?

Yes. Play Ghosts of Sydney: The Lost Son and step into dimly lit lanes around Hyde Park Barracks. Clues whisper of ghosts, opium dens, and missing children. It’s atmospheric, eerie, and best when the city feels quiet.

Is this quest something I could do for a date night?

Definitely. Walking together through Sydney’s haunted past, sharing flashlight moments, discovering hidden history—it sets the tone. Stop for a night-cap at The Rocks afterward and you’ve got a date to remember.

Doing this with friends—any tips to make it more fun?

Take friends who like mystery, divide into teams if you want, compare which clue set you solve first, or who spots the creepiest detail. Sydney’s dark corners + shared goosebumps = great memories.

What historic artifacts or installations will I cross by?

You’ll see things like the Forgotten Songs art installation in Angel Place, the Tank Stream Plaque, Brown Bear Lane mural, and the Robert Brough Memorial Fountain—all woven into the plot.
