It starts at the Fringe Shop and finishes at The Stand Comedy Club, so it does not return to the start. In between you pass the High Street Wellhead, the Writers' Museum, the Mound, the Assembly Rooms and the Melville Monument, crossing from the Old Town into the New Town.
