About this quest

You might know Cambridge for its elite university, but did you know about the secret societies it has harboured for centuries? Groups like The Apostles, named for their twelve founding members, or The Knights Borogrove, shrouded in mystery and gossip.

In this walking quest, Cambridge reveals itself as it rarely does. You will visit King's College, Trinity College, St.

John's, Christ's, the Round Church, and the Corpus Clock, while uncovering stories of the scholars who shaped the world here: Alan Turing, Stephen Hawking, Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, and more.

But there is a story woven through it all.

You are a Tudor-era student in a secret society racing to recover a banned book before the King's soldiers find it first.

The clues were left by a fellow member who was captured. The clock is running.

Solve the puzzles, follow the trail through Cambridge's most famous landmarks, and find the book before it is lost to history.

The mission: Your story in Cambridge, UK

Whilst out and about on our Highlights of Cambridge tour, you will be swept up in a gripping story brought to life by our writers:

You live in medieval Britain, under the rule of the Tudors.

As a student at Cambridge, you joined a secret society called The Gentle Chroniclers, which fights to preserve prohibited books deemed revolutionary by the King.

Your mission is to find Call to Uprising, a volume which Rosalynd, a fellow member, had hidden before being captured. She revealed its approximate location under duress.

Now that the hiding place has been revealed to the King's minions, you are the only hope to reach the book before them.
