Every year, Bunny carefully hides colorful gems around the town square, making sure they’re easy to find, so everyone can enjoy the hunt. But this year, trouble is afoot. What will we see on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk during the hunt?
The route joins the Boardwalk at 13th St and continues past the Fishing Pier, the La La Land Sugar Candy Kingdom, the John Wareing Statue, the Boardwalk Birds Sculpture and the Cotton Candy Wings Mural. Before that it passes the Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum. Each stop comes with a short story and a puzzle.
Where does the scavenger hunt start and finish?
It starts at the Virginia Legends Park entry on Pacific Ave and heads toward the ocean by the Atlantic Ave entry. The route is a loop of about 2.1 km and finishes at Virginia Legends Walk on the east side of Atlantic Ave, after a stop at Shakes by Kohr Bros.
How long does it take to play?
Most families take around an hour and 40 minutes, including the walking and the puzzles at each of the twelve stops. You can pause at any point, for a snack or a break on the Boardwalk, and carry on later from where you stopped.
What age is it good for?
It is written for children aged about 5 to 12. The story follows Bunny and Felix the fox, and the puzzles ask kids to look closely at the statues, sculptures, murals and shops in front of them. Younger children may need help, and the walk lasts close to two hours.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on one phone, so a family, visiting relatives or a camp group can play as a team. There is no set time slot and no guide to meet, so you start whenever you like.
