About this quest

Granville Island, a bustling community of indie shops and studios, is often imitated. To truly get the place, though, you need to see the unique way its past as "Industrial Island" still mingles with its new life as an arts hub.

This quest illuminates that legacy, documenting the island's strange transformation:

How did a lead paint factory become kids' favorite destination?
How did the largest work ever made by twin brother muralists end up in a concrete factory?
The island has the answers.

Highlights

  • See the ever-busy Granville Island Market

  • Take in beautiful views of Vancouver's False Creek, where urban life merges with BC's stunning natural landscape.

  • Discover parts of the Island still engaged in the Island's industrial legacy, from giant concrete silos to tiny scale model buildings.

The mission: Your story in Vancouver, BC

Your days of instant noodles for dinner are over; time to make something of yourself!  From industry to art, Granville Island is the place to do it!

A record store on the Island could bring in big bucks, but you know the shop needs a centrepiece, something no-one else has: the rumored one-of-one LP from reclusive avant-garde superstar Grant Marin, hidden on the island where he worked before his big break.

Follow clues from Marin's songs and notes to get that LP before anyone else!

Excellent combinations of puzzles, story history. No real flaws in it with all of the landmarks and locations being available. The hints were good when we needed them and not too much of a dead giveaway. We had a great time shopping at the market and seeing and hearing about Granville Island through the lens of a scavenger hunt. We will definitely recommend this to our friends and family.
