How old is Split's old town?
The quest is built around a town roughly 1700 years old that grew up around the palace of one of the greatest Roman emperors. On the route you visit the basements, the Silver Gate, the Temple of Jupiter and the Vestibul, and the story reveals who that emperor was and what happened to him.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Sjaš svijetliš svemiriš me and finishes at The Great Sphynx of Split, so it does not return to the start. In between are fifteen stops over about 2.7 km, including The Olympians, Matejuška, the Gregory Nin Statue, the Large Papalić Palace and the Temple of Jupiter.
How long does it take, and do we need to book a time?
Players typically take around 165 minutes, so allow about three hours including walking and puzzles. There is no time slot to book and no group to join: start whenever you like, and pause and carry on later if you need a coffee break.
Does the route pass Matejuška?
Yes. Matejuška is the third stop, reached after the starting point and The Olympians and before the stop called Going to the Spa. From there the route heads into the old town towards the Gregory Nin Statue, the basements and the Silver Gate.
Can we play as a group, and is there a best time to go?
Yes, one ticket covers the whole group playing together, and no attraction tickets are needed along the way. The quest is best played in daylight, as it is not recommended at night. Temporary construction work may affect parts of the route or some checkpoints.

Diocletian’s Palace context
A Roman palace continuously adapted into a city
Diocletian’s Palace was built around the turn of the fourth century CE, but Split did not preserve it as an isolated ruin. Later residents reused the mausoleum as a cathedral and added medieval churches, fortifications and Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque buildings. The route explores a city formed by continuous adaptation of the Roman complex rather than a single frozen historical period. Playable languages: English.
