Frequently asked questions
Is there an outdoor escape room in South Bend?
Yes. This is an escape-room-style game played on your phone through downtown South Bend. Clues lead you to 11 locations, where you solve puzzles to outsmart the witch in a story inspired by L. Frank Baum's original Oz novel. It covers about 2 km on foot.
Do we need to book a time slot like a regular escape room?
No. Unlike an indoor escape room with fixed sessions, you start whenever you like and play at your own pace. You can also pause the game and continue later, so a coffee or meal break along the route is easy to fit in.
Where does it start and how long does it take?
The game starts at the fountain in Jon Hunt Memorial Plaza. Plan on around 90 minutes to walk the roughly 2 km route and solve the puzzles at its 11 stops, though your group can go faster or slower and pause whenever you need.
Can our whole group play together?
Yes. One ticket covers your whole group, so friends, families, birthday or work groups can team up to crack the puzzles together. If you prefer to go alone, you can play solo and compare your result on the leaderboard.
Is it good for kids?
It suits families with older children and teens who enjoy puzzles and can walk about 2 km over around 90 minutes. The game is outdoors, so dress for the weather, and younger children will need adults to help with the clues.
