Yes. This self-guided quest runs on your phone and leads you through ten stops, starting at the Embarcadero and Ferry Building and continuing through the Financial District. At each place the app tells its Gold Rush era story and sets a puzzle based on what is in front of you.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at The Embarcadero & Ferry Building and finishes at Union Square, so it is not a loop. In between you pass Mechanics Monument Plaza, the Wells Fargo Museum, Giannini Plaza, St Mary's Square in Chinatown and the French Quarter. The route covers about 2.8 km.
How long does it take, and can we pause?
Most players take about 1 hour 40 minutes, including walking and puzzles, so allow up to 2 hours. You can pause at any point and continue later, which makes it easy to stop for food or a rest along the way.
Is it good for kids?
