Place Masséna is the main square of Nice and a vibrant hub of city life. With its checkerboard flooring, striking Italianate architecture, and statues of the Greek gods, it forms a picturesque backdrop for many of the city’s major events, including the annual Nice Carnival.

Best time/season to visit: Vibrant throughout the year but particularly lively during festivals and when the Christmas market takes over the square.
