Where does the troll quest start and finish?
It starts at the Bayswater Hotel and finishes at Hamilton Reserve, so it does not return to the start. Along the 1.3 km route you pass Bayswater Train Station, the In Memory of the Bridge stop, the Old Bayswater Post Office, the Laneway Artspace and Bert Wright Park Nature Playground.
How long does it take?
Most players take around 90 minutes, including the walking and solving the puzzles. The route itself is short at about 1.3 km, so most of the time goes into exploring the stops and working out the clues. You can pause and continue later if you need a break.
Is it good for kids?
Yes, it suits families. The puzzles are rated medium, so children of about 8 and up can join in, and younger ones can help alongside an adult. The route also includes a stop at Bert Wright Park Nature Playground, which gives children a natural break near the end.
Do we need to book a time or pay?
No. The quest is free to play and you can start any time you like. There is no group to join and no guide to meet. Open it on your phone at the Bayswater Hotel and the app leads you from stop to stop.
Is it outdoors, and what should we bring?
The whole route is outdoors on the streets and parks of Bayswater. Wear a hat and sunscreen and carry enough water, especially on hot days. If the weather turns or you get tired, you can pause the game and pick it up again later.
