The 2.3 km walk runs from the MTS trolley stop to the End of Wharf in just over an hour and a half. If you want a guide to question, or harbour history over safety checks, pick another quest.

Where does the Monterey wharf walk start and finish?
It starts at the MTS Trolley Pickup/Charging Station and finishes at the End of Wharf, so it does not return to the start. Along the way you pass the Portola Hotel & Spa, the Old Fisherman's Wharf entrance, the Recreational Trail, an elevated crosswalk and Wharf 2.
How long does the quest take and how far is the walk?
Most players take just over an hour and a half, about 95 minutes, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers 2.3 km between the trolley stop and the end of the wharf.
Can we play as a group, and does it cost anything?
It is free to play. Friends, classmates or a study group can walk it together, following the app from stop to stop and working through the inspection tasks on the wharfs and around the public transit as a team.
Do we need to book a time, and can we pause?
No booking is needed. You start whenever you like on your phone, with no group to join and no guide to meet. You can pause partway, for example for a meal on the wharf, and continue later from where you stopped.
