Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at the opening welcome stop on the trail and finishes at the final stop, Your Last Challenge, just after Sister's Park. It is not a loop, so you end at a different point from where you began, having passed the monument, the wildlife signs and the tree where Monterey began.
How long does the walk take and how far is it?
Most players take about an hour, including walking and solving the challenges. The distance is short, around 0.5 km, so most of the time goes into reading the signs, looking around and collecting the letters you need for the final code.
Is it good for kids?
It suits families with children old enough to follow directions and write down a letter at each stop. The stops focus on things children tend to enjoy, such as harbor seals, sea otters and local birds, and the short distance keeps little legs from tiring.
Do we need to pay or book a time?
No. It is free to play, and there is no booking or set start time. You open it on your phone and begin whenever you like, alone or with a group, with no guide to meet.
