CONFIDENTIAL / CASE BRIEFING

The story starts here.

"When I die I will be reborn in paradise, and all those I have killed will become my slaves."

Decades ago, the Zodiac Killer carved those words into history then vanished into the fog. The case went cold. The city moved on. Until last night.

A high-security police vault has been breached. The thief ignored the cash and the narcotics but he took only one thing: the original Zodiac evidence files. Now a copycat calling himself The Disciple has scattered the 1969 artifacts across the city and marked innocent citizens for "collection," determined to finish what his Master started.

You're on the task force. Twelve locations, each tied to a Zodiac sign. No set order, only your instincts. And beware: some of them are traps designed to waste your precious time.

🔎 Crack the Zodiac's infamous ciphers, recover the stolen artifacts, and save the victims before the clock runs out. The ink is fresh, the knife is sharp, and the city is screaming for answers.

Is this for you?

Who it's for

True-crime fans, couples after a darker date night and groups of friends who like a puzzle get around 90 minutes on the streets of Melbourne, chasing a copycat who has scattered the 1969 Zodiac evidence across the city. It feels like an escape room with no booked slot, played outdoors on your phone. Anyone wanting a light family outing, or a guide recounting the real case, should choose something else.

  • For true crime readers, played with your partner, your friends, or on your own if the ciphers are the draw.

Frequently asked questions

Is this game about the real Zodiac Killer?
It starts from the real case. The Zodiac Killer's own words and the 1969 evidence are the hook. The story follows a fictional copycat called The Disciple, who has stolen the original files and scattered the artifacts around Melbourne. You follow his trail and solve puzzles to stop him.
Is this a guided Zodiac Killer tour?
No. It is a self-guided game played on your phone. The app leads you from place to place, tells the story at each one and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. There is no guide and no group to join, so you set your own pace.
Do we need to book a time slot, and can we pause?
No booking is needed. Unlike an indoor escape room with a fixed slot, you start whenever you like, today or at the weekend. It takes around 90 minutes, and you can pause and pick it up again later if you want a break or a drink along the way.
Can we play together as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers your whole group, so a couple or a few friends can play together, sharing the clues, comparing theories and working through each puzzle as a team while the app moves you on through the story.
Is it suitable for children?
It is written for adults. The story centres on a serial killer, a copycat and citizens marked for collection, which is a dark theme. Families with younger children would do better with a lighter quest. Older teens who enjoy true crime may cope, at their parents' judgement.
