Where does the walk start and how long does it take?
It starts at Federation Square and loops 3.6 km through the centre before finishing back at Federation Square. Most people take around 1.5 to 2 hours. You can pause at any point, for a coffee in Degraves St or a look around the market, and continue later.
Does the route pass Flinders Street Station?
Yes. Flinders Street Station is one of the last stops, just before the walk returns to Federation Square. Shortly before it you pass Hosier Lane and St. Paul's Cathedral. Earlier stops include the Old Melbourne Gaol, the Melbourne City Baths and Chinatown.
Is it good for kids?
It is tagged family friendly, and the puzzles are about things in front of you, such as arcades, laneways and street art, so they keep children looking around. It suits school-age children who can manage 3.6 km on foot. Very young children may find the distance long.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
There is no time slot to book. You start whenever suits you, any day. One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated for the quest, so friends or family can follow the route and solve the puzzles together.
