Frequently asked questions

Is there a scavenger hunt in the French Quarter?
Yes. This is a self-guided puzzle walk through the French Quarter, played on your phone. You wake up as a museum guard with a priceless painting missing, then follow real-world clues across 10 stops, including the Old Ursuline Convent Museum, St. Louis Cathedral, Jackson Square and Café du Monde.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar and finishes at Central Grocery and Deli, so it does not return to the start. On the way you pass the Danny Barker Birthplace, The Presbytère, the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum and Washington Artillery Park.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Most players take just under two hours, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers about 1.9 km through the Quarter's streets. You can pause the game and pick it up again later if you want a break.
Can we play as a group, and is it suitable for kids?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on the route. The quest is recommended for families, and it works best with children old enough to follow clues, help solve puzzles and walk for close to two hours.
Do we need to book a time slot?
No. There is no group to join and no guide to meet, so you can start whenever you like. The quest is tagged as best at night, so an evening start is a good choice if you want the Quarter at its most atmospheric.
What’s the mission?

You’re guarding a historical painting at a museum in the French Quarter. One night, it vanishes. Your boss is away. It’s on you to follow hidden clues through the timeless streets, untangle riddles, and recover the treasure before the secret leaks.

Who will have the most fun with it?

Great for couples wanting a sweet adventure, groups of friends who enjoy puzzles and laughter, and curious families who want history plus mystery plus beignets along the way.

Best time to play — day, evening, or night?

Evening or twilight has a special vibe. The Quarter’s lights, the music, the sounds—it all kicks up the atmosphere. Daytime works too if you want more energy and less mystery.

French Quarter context

Colonial streets behind the fictional missing artwork

The Vieux Carré was laid out in the French colonial period and rebuilt through later Spanish and American eras. Jackson Square, the Cabildo and the surrounding streets preserve parts of that layered civic and architectural history. This quest uses those real places for an original treasure hunt; the stolen painting and the people involved in its disappearance are fictional. Playable languages: English, Spanish.
