YOUR FAMILY’S NEXT ADVENTURE

A little curiosity goes a long way.

Budapest has two histories: the one in the guidebooks, and the one the buildings remember.

This haunted walking tour takes you through both.

Starting at Heroes' Square, where seven chieftains sealed a blood pact over a thousand years ago, you follow a route through Varosliget Park and the city's residential streets to the iron-curtained facade of the House of Terrors and the platforms of Nyugati Station.

Along the way: a serial killer's housekeeper, a suitcase murder, a child who knocked on the wrong gate, an architect who died inside his own building, and the story of the only body ever found in a metal drum.

No guide. No headphones. Just you, the city, and eleven locations that have been waiting a very long time for someone to pay attention.
