About this quest

On the night of October 27th, the walls between worlds grow thin.

You are Dante Alighieri, returned to Florence as a spirit with a mission: prove that everything you wrote in the Divine Comedy was true.

Guided through the city's most haunted locations by your old companion Virgil, and later by the skeptic poet Cecco d'Ascoli, you follow a route from Piazza Santissima Annunziata to Palazzo Vecchio and the Bargello chapel.

Each stop is linked to the dark side of Florentine history: a bride cursed to wait forever at an open window, a mother who sold her child to the devil, a man who fell from the Duomo and left a cursed mark on the pavement, and the woman pressed forever into the stones of Santa Maria Maggiore.

This outdoor escape game takes you through the real streets of Florence with a story running underneath them. No actors, no costumes.

Just the city at night, and the questions Dante never got to answer in life.

Highlights

Walk through Florence's most haunted streets in the role of Dante Alighieri Follow Virgil and Cecco d'Ascoli through nine locations tied to the dark side of Florentine history Uncover the fate of the Window Widow, the cursed pavement of the Duomo, and the woman trapped in stone

The mission: Your story in Florence

You are Dante Alighieri.

You wrote about Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise from experience. Not metaphor. Not allegory. You were there.

You walked through all three, guided by Virgil, and you returned to Earth to write it down so the living would understand.

Nobody believed you. They called it a poem. They called you a genius. They missed the point entirely.

Now it is October 27th, and the boundary between worlds has thinned to almost nothing.

You have come back: not as a living man, but as a spirit with unfinished business. The city that exiled you is laid out before you in moonlight.

You have one night to prove you were right. Virgil is waiting.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the mood of this game—more horror or poetic mystery?

It’s poetic mystery with a dark edge. You get ghost stories, curses, haunted squares—but it leans more toward atmospheric chills, not jump-scares (unless you choose to imagine them 😏).

Could this be a memorable date night?

Definitely. Walking past Palazzo Vecchio under lamplight, chasing Dante’s shadows, pausing at ancient piazzas—this adds romance plus intrigue. Perfect if you want something emotionally rich, not just dinner.

When should I play it—afternoon or at night?

Evening is way better. The route gets atmospheric when the sun goes down—moonlight on the Duomo, shadows in the alleys, the hush around piazzas brings out the eerie beauty.

What landmarks and creepy spots will I visit?

You start at Palazzo Grifoni, then hit Palazzo Vecchio, Piazza del Duomo, and end at Castel Bargello. Along the way there are haunted villas, cursed spots, and old Florence stories that aren’t in every guidebook.

Is this route easy to follow, even in dim light?

Yes, the clues guide you well and route stays mainly in well-known central zones. Just wear comfy shoes (cobblestones + some stairs) and use a jacket if evenings are chilly.
