Frequently asked questions
Where does the Christmas scavenger hunt in Chicago start and end?
It starts at the Chicago Fire Relic and loops back to it. Along the way you pass the Abraham Lincoln monument, the Children's Fountain, The Moody Church, the Old Town Chicago sign, North Wells Street and the Chicago History Museum.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Plan on around 90 minutes for about 2.2 km of walking across 12 locations. You can pause the game at any point and pick it up again later, so a stop for hot chocolate or a meal does not break the story.
Does it work for an office Christmas party or a big group?
Yes. You play as Ground Control, sharing puzzles and dares as a team, and one ticket covers your whole group up to the number of devices stated. There is no host, so the group sets its own pace.
Is it suitable for kids?
It suits school-age children who can help with puzzles and enjoy silly dares, and the humor is light, built around Santa, Sparky and Rudolph. Younger children may need an adult to read the clues and may tire over the 2.2 km walk.
Do we need to book a start time?
No. There is no fixed slot and no guide to meet. Open the game on your phone at the Chicago Fire Relic whenever your group is ready and follow the trail from there.
Is Christmas Operation: Sleigh Down in Chicago self-guided?
Yes. The Questo app guides you between locations without a tour guide or fixed departure. Start when it suits you and pause if needed.

It starts at Chicago Fire Relic, West Lasalle Drive &, N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60614, USA and finishes at Abraham Lincoln The Man - Monument, 2045 N Lincoln Park W, Chicago, IL 60614, USA. The route is approximately 2.2 km and includes 12 location-based puzzles.
