How a working harbour became today’s waterfront
Bristol’s waterfront grew around a port shaped by unusually large tides. The Floating Harbour kept water levels more stable for ships, while docks, locks, cranes and warehouses supported trade and employment. By the mid-20th century the Harbourside was still a busy working port; surviving structures such as the M Shed cranes now preserve that industrial story. This quest follows the water and city views, using puzzles to connect today’s leisure waterfront with the maritime landscape beneath it. Playable languages: English.
