Innovacció 2030, a bid for solutions made between the city of Barcelona, Mobile World Capital and Digital Future Society, looks for innovative technology-based pilot projects to help promote sustainable tourism in Eixample, one of Barcelona’s leading economic sectors. Read more about it here.
We’re delighted to announce that we, Questo, your friendly neighbourhood tech startup, have been selected as a semi-finalist with our proposal for Innovacció 2030. The core of this proposal centres around improving the sustainability of tourism for visitors and residents alike in Eixample.
After all, tourism in Barcelona generates more than 150,000 direct and indirect jobs, and it’s the fourth largest wealth-creating economic activity in the city. That said, overtourism and the uneven distribution of tourist activity aren’t good for anyone, so that’s where sustainable tourism solutions, such as ours, come in.
Questo would be delighted to assist Eixample in realising its vision for sustainable tourism going forward – especially by applying our own solutions for equalising the distribution of tourism at scale.
Our solutions drive visitor spending towards lesser-known areas by partnering up with local companies, communities and creative individuals to produce sought-after exploration games. Games can be created quickly, by anyone and in any place with a story – which is to say, anywhere.
