About this quest

Cervantes was living in Valladolid and had just published Don Quixote when an English delegation arrived to ratify the Peace Treaty of London. A few days after they left, a mysterious murder happened at the door of Cervantes' house. This game takes you to the historical events that happened in 1605, when Valladolid was the proud capital of Spain. Characters and events are taken from historical records. The few invented elements are inspired on the fictional creations of Shakespeare and Cervantes

Highlights

What if Shakespeare came along with the English embassy that arrived in Valladolid while Cervantes was living here? What if the crime that happened at Cervantes doorstep was the consequence of this visit? Follow William Shakespeare and Isabela, a Spanish-English lady, to find out what happened in this city four-hundred years ago.

The mission: Your story in Valladolid

William Shakespeare comes to Valladolid as one of the members of an embassy. He will meet Isabela (la Española-Inglesa), a girl who was taken as a prisoner from Cadiz by the English during the war and was raised there by the family of her captors.

Even though she is beautiful, her face is disfigured because she was poisoned by a jealous lady.

Having lost her beauty she has lost her worth and is allowed to leave the court, but the late Queen Elizabeth gave her some jewels that she brings along.

Great way to explore a little of Valladolid whilst discovering important historical facts. Route is easy and takes in some gorgeous buildings and monuments. Clues were all easy which was fine for us. The story was interesting and engaging. We could have played in Spanish but chose English instead. Everything was clear and well explained.Highly recommended.
