About Plaza de la Virgen
Plaza de la Virgen sits on the site of the old Roman forum, framed by the basilica and the back of Valencia's cathedral. The fountain in the middle represents the river Turia and its irrigation channels. On Thursdays the Water Tribunal, a farmers' court that has settled irrigation disputes for centuries, meets in the open air at the cathedral's Apostles' Door.
