Is this for you?

Who it's for

Adults drawn to Turin's reputation for black magic and the occult can walk it at their own hour instead of waiting for a fixed evening tour, from Piazza Statuto past the Rondò della Forca to the Emanuele Filiberto monument, in around 100 minutes over 2.5 km. Anyone who wants a live guide to quiz about the legends, or a lighter story for young children, should choose something else.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the black magic walk start and finish in Turin?
It starts at Piazza Statuto and finishes at the Monumento a Emanuele Filiberto Duca d'Aosta, so it does not return to the start. Along the way you pass the Rondò della Forca, Palazzo Falletti di Barolo, the Antica Farmacia Bosio and the Chiesa di San Tommaso, twelve stops in all.
How long does the quest take?
Most players take around 100 minutes, walking and puzzles included, to cover the 2.5 km route. You can pause at any point and continue later, so there is no need to finish in one go.
Do we need to book a time like a guided evening tour?
No. There is no fixed departure, no group to join and no guide. You start whenever you like on your phone at Piazza Statuto, and the app leads you from stop to stop, telling the story of each place and setting a puzzle in what is in front of you.
Can we play as a group, and does it cost anything?
The quest is free to play, so friends or a couple can simply set off together. Everyone follows the same route through the city, reading the stories and working out the puzzles at each stop between Piazza Statuto and the Emanuele Filiberto monument.
What happens if it rains during the walk?
The quest is a walk between squares, streets and buildings across the city centre, so dress for the weather. If rain sets in, you can pause the game, take shelter and continue later from where you stopped.

ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE

What to expect from TURIN: THE MOUTH OF HELL.

Fog swallows Statuto Square. The cold pierces your bones and the air tastes of sulfur. Suddenly, a dull roar shakes the ground: cracks around the Frejus Monument glow with a scarlet light. The Fourth Seal is broken. The Mouth of Hell has opened beneath your feet. An ancient, evil entity is about to awaken, and the boundary between reality and the Nadir has collapsed. You are not alone. A freezing breath brushes your neck as invisible footsteps echo on the cobblestones. It is the Presence: an intangible esoteric energy that will guide your steps through the city's occult architecture, asking dark riddles at every stop. Turin's geomantic lines are corrupted and your time is limited: you must purify them before the darkness becomes eternal. The only salvation is to overcome the trials, reach Castello Square, the heart of White Magic, and activate the Grand Seal to restore order. The journey begins. Close your eyes, listen to the whispers, and run.

Start: Piazza Statuto. Finish: Monumento a Emanuele Filiberto Duca d'Aosta. 13 challenges included.
