Where Seoul's western city gate once stood for over 500 years, a fascinating open-air museum now preserves the soul of a disappearing neighbourhood. Donuimun Gate was built in 1396 as the main western entrance to Seoul's city wall, but in 1915, Japanese colonial authorities demolished it to widen a road, making it the only one of Seoul's four main gates that no longer exists.
