About this quest

Step back in time to the heart of medieval Regensburg, a UNESCO World Heritage City, where society was defined by three essential roles: Laboratores (those who work), Oratores (those who pray), and Bellatores (those who fight).

Inspired by Ælfric of Eynsham’s writings, this walking tour takes you through Regensburg’s historic streets, rich with medieval architecture and atmosphere.

Highlights

  • Wander narrow alleys, uncover buildings from different eras of the Middle Ages, and learn about the lives of those who sustained, protected, and spiritually guided the city.

  • Discover the spirit of medieval Regensburg and the legacy of those who shaped its history.

The mission: Your story in Regensburg

Ælfric of Eynsham (c.1000) wrote about medieval society:
  1. 🛐 Oratores are those who intercede for us with God.
  2. 🧑‍🌾 Laboratores are those that labour for our sustenance.
  3. ⚔️ Bellatores are those who protect our towns and defend our soil against the invading army.

This is the central theme of

Medieval Regensburg - Those who Pray, Those who Work, Those who Fight

Stroll through narrow alleyways full of medieval atmosphere and discover buildings from the early, high and late Middle Ages.

St. Ägid stimmt die Antwort nicht. Auf der Steinbrücke wäre es gut nach der Himmelsrichtung zu fragen, statt nur nach der Richtung. Vor allem am Ende sind teilweise Sätze unvollständig.
