Yes, it is a self-guided ghost walk played on your phone. The app leads you between haunted spots such as the Shelbourne Hotel, Trinity College and the Olympia Theatre, tells the dark story of each, and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. There is no guide and no group to join.
Where does the haunted walk start and finish?
It starts at the Wolfe Tone Sculpture and finishes at The Brazen Head, so it is not a loop. In between you pass St Ann's Church, Trinity College's entrance gate, the Olympia Theatre, City Hall, Christchurch and High Street, about 2.3 km on foot.
How long does the haunted Dublin walking tour take?
Most players take around 100 minutes, which covers both the walking and the puzzles. You can pause at any point and continue later, so you can stop for a drink or a break without losing your place in the story.
Do we need to book a time, and can a group play together?
There is no fixed tour time, so you can start whenever suits you, and it is best played at night. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on the route.
Do we go inside the haunted buildings?
No. Entering the places is not part of the experience; the stories and puzzles are played from the street outside each stop. Since it works best after dark, keep your phone flashlight handy, as some clues may be easier to spot with it.
