Frequently asked questions
What is the Oz experience in Plano?
It is an outdoor, escape-room-style game played on your phone. A new story inspired by L. Frank Baum's 1900 Oz novel leads you through Plano streets, where you solve puzzles to outsmart the witch. Original Oz-themed songs made for the game play in the app and stay available after you get home.
Where does the game start and finish?
You start near the entrance to McCall Plaza on E 15th St. The route is a loop of about 2.2 km past spots such as Rainbow Donuts, Twisted Root Burger Co and @15th, and it brings you back to the same McCall Plaza entrance at the end.
How long does it take?
Plan on around 90 minutes, depending on how quickly your group cracks the puzzles and how long you linger at each stop. You can pause the game at any point and continue later, so a break for food or drinks along the way is easy.
Do we need to book a time slot, and can a group share one ticket?
There is no booking slot, so you can start whenever suits you. One ticket covers your whole group, and you work through the clues together on your phones. If you prefer, you can also take on the witch's challenges solo and compete on the leaderboard.
Is it suitable for kids?
It suits families with older children and teens who enjoy problem solving, since the game is built around escape-room-style puzzles and following clues to each new location. Younger children may need adults to help with the puzzles, and everyone should be comfortable walking about 2.2 km outdoors.
