Parque de la Alameda is a shaded strip of palms, tiled benches and fountains on the edge of Marbella's old town. It is where the town goes to escape the afternoon sun, and it links the historic streets to the seafront.

Avenida del Mar links Marbella's old town to the seafront promenade, and along its length stands a series of bronze sculptures by Salvador Dalí. Seeing that much Dalí for free on a public street is unusual anywhere.
