You follow Amelia, born the year the Brooklyn Bridge opened, who has never left Manhattan. Her love, a kind-hearted lamplighter from Brooklyn, waits on the other side, but she has never told him she fears heights. You help her cross by solving puzzles hidden in the bridge itself.
Where does the walk start and finish?
It starts at the Jacob Wrey Mould Fountain and finishes underneath the bridge. It is not a loop. Along the way you pass the archway, the spot where concrete turns to wooden planks, both sets of arches, the bridge midpoint, Poplar and Hicks, and the Fruit Street Sitting Area.
How long does the romantic Brooklyn Bridge walk take?
Most players take about 3.5 hours, including walking and puzzles. The route covers 7.9 km, so wear comfortable shoes. You can pause at any point and pick it up again later, which makes it easy to stop for a coffee or linger at the midpoint.
