Is this for you?
Who it's for
Groups of friends after an escape room outing, families with teens and couples get the same teamwork puzzles outdoors, walking about 2 km past Washington Ave, the Community Center and the Public Library. The story follows L. Frank Baum's 1900 Oz novel, and solo players can chase the leaderboard. Anyone wanting a host on hand, or a game that stays indoors for the full 90-plus minutes, should book a traditional room.

Frequently asked questions
Where does the Oz escape game in Murrieta start and finish?
It starts at the Kalmia St entrance of Springs Charter Schools (Murrieta Student Center) and loops back to the same spot. On the way you pass Washington Ave, Murrieta Brewing Company, the Community Center, the sports park gate on Adams Ave, the Art Association, the Public Library and the United Methodist Church.
How long does it take?
Most players take a little over an hour and a half, around 95 minutes, with walking and puzzles included. The route covers about 2 km on foot, so plan for a relaxed pace with time to stop and work out each clue.
Can we play as a group, or solo?
Both work. One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so friends, families or a birthday or work group can solve the puzzles side by side. If you prefer to play alone, you can take on the witch's challenges solo and compare your result on the leaderboard.
Do we need to book a time slot?
No. Unlike a fixed-time indoor escape room, you start whenever you like, with no group to join and no guide to meet. The app leads you from stop to stop, and you can pause the game and continue later if you need a break.
Is it played outdoors?
Yes, it is an outdoor escape-room-style game played on your phone as you walk the streets of Murrieta. Dress for the weather on the day, and since you can pause and pick up again later, a sudden shower does not have to end your game.
