About this quest
Step into Roman Istria in 326 AD and experience Medulin through the eyes of a young man brought to work as a slave at Vižula. Follow his story as you explore sandy Bijeca Beach, the harbour, ancient Roman remains and the old town. Solve challenges, uncover clues and help him find his way through a world of Roman customs, dangers and possibilities.

What does one ticket cover?
One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so a family or a couple does not need a ticket each. There is no time slot to book and no guide to meet: you start whenever you like on your phone, and you can pause and continue later.
Where does the route start and finish?
It starts at Bijeca Beach and finishes at the main square in Medulin, so it does not return to the start. In between you pass Windmill Malin, the port authority, the harbour gazebo, a fresh water spring, the entrance to Vižula Archaeological Park, the NOB monument and the Church of St. Agnes, about 3.7 km in all.
Does the walk go through Medulin old town?
Yes. After the harbour and the Roman remains at Vižula, the story moves into the old town, with stops at the monument to the National Liberation War and the Church of St. Agnes before it ends on the main square.
How long does it take, and is it good for kids?
Most players take just over two hours, walking and puzzles included, for about 3.7 km. It is family friendly, with puzzles rated easy to medium that you solve in what is around you, so it suits children who can manage that distance and enjoy helping with clues.
Is it all outdoors, and when should we go?
The whole route is outdoors. It is open 24/7 but works best in daylight. Much of it runs along the beach and harbour, so bring a hat, sunscreen and enough water, and charge your phone fully or carry a power bank.
