Is there an app for walking the traboules in Lyon?
Yes. This quest is played on your phone and leads you through several traboules and courtyards, including the Cour des Voraces and the Rue Royale traboule. Some traboules and courtyards are opened by pressing the security button on the digicode pad, and the app tells the story of each place as you go.
Can I do a self-guided tour of the Lyon traboules without booking a guide?
Yes. There is no guide and no group to join, and you do not book a time slot. You start whenever you like, follow the app from stop to stop and solve a puzzle at each place. You can also pause the game and continue later.
What is there to see and do in the Croix-Rousse?
The route takes in the Fresque des Lyonnais, Place Sathonay, the Amphitheater of the Three Gauls, the Cour des Voraces, a piece by Ememem, the Rue des Fantasques viewpoint, La Mère Brazier restaurant and the Cour des Moirages, with stories of the canut silk workers along the way.

The walk starts and finishes at the Opéra National, so you end up back where you began. It covers about 2.2 km and takes a little over an hour, or longer if you linger at the viewpoint or in the courtyards. It is best played during the day.
