Frequently asked questions
How long does the Lowell secret society detective game take?
Plan on around 90 minutes to walk the 2.1 km route and solve the puzzles. Your pace depends on how quickly your group cracks each code, and you can pause the game and continue later if you want a break.
Where does the detective game start?
The game begins at its first point, listed as LBC. The app shows you where to go and then leads you on foot from place to place, giving you the story and a new clue at each stop along the way.
Is it suitable for kids?
The game is written for adults and works well for families with teens who like puzzles and mystery stories. The plot centres on a secret society and a whistleblower, and the codes take some thought, so younger children may find it hard to follow without plenty of help.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
Yes, one ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated. There is no time slot to book and no guide to meet, so you can start whenever suits you and pause to continue later.
Is the game played outdoors?
Yes, it is a self-guided walk through the city streets of about 2.1 km, played on your phone outdoors. Check the weather before you set out and dress for it, or simply pause and finish another time if the rain comes in.
