A fictional great-aunt leaves you a map dotted with codes, and you follow it through Greenwich solving riddles at real places, including Greenwich Market, St Alfege Church, Greenwich Park, the National Maritime Museum, the Bellot Memorial and the Cutty Sark.
Where does the walk start and finish?
It starts at The Spanish Galleon and finishes at The Cutty Sark. The route loops round Greenwich, taking in the market, St Alfege Church, Greenwich Park, the Queen's House, the Trafalgar Tavern on Crane Street and the Greenwich Foot Tunnel before ending by the ship.
How long does it take?
Most players take about an hour and three quarters, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers around 2 km. It is best played during the day, when the clues in the streets and the park are easy to spot.
Is it good for kids, and can we play as a group?
It is recommended for families, and works best with children old enough to read clues and enjoy working out riddles. Friends, couples and families can play together, and one ticket covers the whole group playing on the same game.
Do we need to book a time, and can we pause?
No time slot is needed. There is no guide and no group to join, so you can start whenever you arrive in Greenwich. You can pause along the way, for a break at the market or in the park, and continue later.
