Frequently asked questions
Do I need to book a time slot, like a mystery room?
No. There is no time slot to reserve. You start the game on your phone whenever suits you, day or weekend, and if you need a break for food or a rest you can pause and pick up the story later from where you stopped.
Is this like a secret society escape room?
It plays like an escape room but outdoors on Lancaster's streets. A whistleblower draws you into exposing a secret society that has shaped events from the shadows, and you follow clues and crack codes using what you see around you, with the app guiding you from place to place.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Plan on around 90 minutes, covering about 1.7 km on foot. Your pace depends on how quickly your group solves the puzzles, and because you can pause at any point, you can stretch it out with stops along the way.
Is it suitable for children?
It suits teens and adults best. The story centres on deceit, secret plots and code-breaking, so the puzzles reward patience and reasoning. Younger children can come along, but they will likely need adults to lead on the clues.
Can we play as a group, and what if it rains?
Yes, one ticket covers your whole group, so friends or family can solve the mystery together. The game is played outdoors as you walk between locations, so check the weather and dress for it, or pause and continue another day if it turns wet.
