Fortress context
A city built around a European fortress
Luxembourg’s old quarters and fortifications grew into one of Europe’s most important fortified sites. Its ramparts and casemates were shaped by successive powers, including major additions under Vauban after the French capture of the fortress.
The Corniche follows former ramparts above the Alzette valley. This game is an independent outdoor exploration, not an official fortress or casemate tour. Playable languages: English.
