In medieval Wallachia, Negru-Vodă dreams of building a grand monastery on the Argeș River. He enlists ten skilled craftsmen, led by Manole. 

Despite their efforts, the walls they build by day collapse each night. Manole receives a dream revealing the need for a human sacrifice to make the monastery stand. The craftsmen are faced with a heartbreaking dilemma. 

Manole insists on the sacrifice despite their pleas.Desperate, the craftsmen seek Negru-Vodă's intervention to find another solution.

Storyline

 In the heart of medieval Wallachia, a noble ruler known as Negru-Vodă, sought to erect a grand monastery on the banks of the Argeș River. 

To bring this ambitious dream to life, he gathered nine of the greatest craftsmen from the land, led by the master builder Manole. 

However, their efforts were thwarted by a mysterious force. Each night, as darkness cloaked the land, the walls they had painstakingly raised by day would crumble to the ground, as if erased by an unseen hand.
