Frequently asked questions

I’m visiting Charlotte for a day—what’s a fun way to explore Uptown?

Try The Oz Escape. You’ll wander from Romare Bearden Park through art-filled streets, solving fantasy clues that reveal both big landmarks and tucked-away corners in about 60–90 minutes.

Looking for a creative date idea downtown—any suggestions?

Yes. Start near First Ward Park at sunset, follow Oz-inspired riddles together, and grab dessert or a late drink on Tryon Street afterward. Sharing clues adds a playful twist to a romantic walk.

Can we bring our kids, or is this mainly for adults?

Families love it. The story is whimsical and puzzle-driven rather than scary, and the walk (about 2 km) is easy to pause for snack stops or playground time. Older kids especially enjoy helping with clues.

What’s the best time of day for atmosphere and photos?

Early evening is ideal. The skyline glows, street art pops in softer light, and it’s cooler for walking. Morning is peaceful if you prefer quiet streets.

We’re locals—will this show us anything new?

Definitely. Even long-time Charlotteans discover murals, sculptures, and architectural details hidden in plain sight once the Oz storyline guides their path.
