Frequently asked questions
Is this a good alternative to a murder mystery party in Des Moines?
It is a self-guided detective game played outdoors on your phone rather than a hosted party. Your group follows a conspiracy story about a secret society and solves puzzles along a 2.1 km walk. You can start whenever you like, with no host or booked room.
How long does the quest take and how far do we walk?
Plan on around 90 minutes to cover about 2.1 km. The app leads you from point to point, telling the story and setting a puzzle at each stop. You can pause at any time and continue later, so a coffee break will not cost you progress.
Where does it start, and do we need to book a time?
The app guides you to the starting point, listed as Point 1 LBC, and leads you on from there. There is no set time slot and no group to join, so you can begin whenever suits you, today or another day.
Is it suitable for kids?
The story and puzzles are aimed at adults and teenagers who like codes and conspiracies. Families with teens are a good fit. Younger children may find the plot about a secret society and the decoding tasks harder to follow, and the walk lasts around 90 minutes.
Can our group play together, and what if it rains?
Yes, one ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated for the quest, so friends can solve clues side by side. The route is an outdoor walk through the city, so dress for the weather or pause and finish on a drier day.
