For centuries, the inhabitants of Cres looked at the wild landscapes around them and found their own answers. Fear, danger, unusual natural events and the mysteries of everyday life became stories - and those stories gave shape to an invisible island inhabited by extraordinary beings.
As you make your way through the old town, you will gradually enter that world. Dragons, fairies, strange creatures, supernatural forces, saints, heroes and even human fears disguised as beings of the night will appear along your path. Some tales have roots in Greek mythology and old Slavic beliefs, while others are inseparable from particular villages, forests, lakes and landscapes of Cres.
