Long before Bran became known for its castle, ordinary families built their lives among these mountains. I was one of them.
I learned to read the seasons before I could read words. Spring brought repairs, summer demanded hard work, autumn rewarded preparation, and winter tested every choice we had made.
The homes, workshops, and shepherd settlements around you were brought here from villages across the Bran region. Though each community had its own traditions, we all faced the same questions. How do we build a home? How do we care for those we love? How do we prepare for seasons we cannot control?
Walk beside me, traveler, and I’ll share the quiet story of mountain life in Transylvania. You may find that the greatest treasures of these villages were never the buildings themselves, but the people who filled them with purpose, season after season.
