Frequently asked questions
What is the secret society in this Adelaide game?
The society is The Kingmakers, a fictional group said to have manipulated world leaders and orchestrated global events from the shadows for centuries. A whistleblower has come forward, and your job is to decode their secrets and uncover the conspiracy before their next grand scheme goes ahead.
How does the detective game work?
You play on your phone. The app leads you from place to place around Adelaide, tells the story of each spot and sets a puzzle based on what is in front of you. Solving it moves the investigation forward. There is no guide and no group to join, so you set the pace.
How long does it take and how far will we walk?
Plan on around 90 minutes of play, covering about 3.2 km on foot. Because you can pause and continue later, you can split it up with a coffee or meal break, or finish it over two outings if that suits your group better.
Is it suitable for kids?
It is written for adults and works well for families with teenagers who like puzzles and a conspiracy story. Younger children may find the 3.2 km walk and the decoding challenges hard going, so it suits teens more than small kids.
Do we need to book a time, and can our group play together?
No booking is needed. You can start any time you like, which makes it an easy option for something to do in Adelaide today or this weekend. One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated, and you can pause whenever you want.
Is Adelaide Detective Mystery: Infiltrate a Secret Society! self-guided?
Yes. The Questo app guides you between locations without a tour guide or fixed departure. You can start when it suits you and pause if needed.
Where does Adelaide Detective Mystery: Infiltrate a Secret Society! start and finish?
It starts at Point 1, 60 Rundle Mall, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia and finishes at Point 12, 60 Rundle Mall, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia. The route is approximately 3.2 km and includes 12 location-based puzzles.
How many accesses does our group need?
This classic quest sells access per device and player. Each person who wants to solve clues on their own phone needs their own access.
