Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel and finishes at the far western point of Île de la Cité, just past the equestrian statue of Henri IV. The route does not return to the start, so plan your onward journey from the island.
How long does the romantic walk along the Seine take?
Most players take around 2 hours 40 minutes, so allow close to three hours including walking and puzzles. The route covers about 4.2 km, from the Louvre area across the river to Saint-Germain-des-Prés and on to Notre-Dame and Île de la Cité.
Can we play as a couple or a group on one ticket?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so a couple or a few friends can follow the story and solve the clues side by side on the same game. There is no group to join and no guide to wait for.
Can we do it by bike, and can we pause along the way?
The quest can be played while riding a bicycle as well as on foot. You start whenever you like, with no time slot to book, and you can pause for a coffee in Saint-Germain and continue later. It is best played during the day.
Does the route pass the Shakespeare and Company bookshop?
Yes. Shakespeare and Company is one of the stops, reached after La Fontaine Saint-Michel and just before Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, so you can look in on the bookshop as part of the story walk.
