Yes. This is a self-guided mystery game played on your phone in the city centre. The app leads you from place to place, tells the story of each monument and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you, often around symbols and numbers. The difficulty is rated easy.
How long is the route and how long does it take?
The walk covers 2.9 km with 15 stops. Most players take just over two hours, walking and puzzles included. You can pause at any point and continue later, so a coffee break along the way is no problem. Bring a fully charged phone or a power bank.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at the Statue of Andrássy, with Parliament as the next stop, and finishes at the Dohány Street Synagogue. It is not a loop, so you end up in a different part of the centre from where you began. You can start whenever you like, with no group to join.
Does the route pass Freedom Square (Szabadság tér)?
Yes. Stops include a mini statue in Szabadság tér (Liberty Square), followed by the Soviet Heroes Memorial, another small statue and the memorial to the Victims of German Occupation with its Living Monument. Each stop comes with its story and a puzzle to solve on the spot.
