Frequently asked questions

Where can I see street art in Ottawa?
This route links eleven murals and public artworks across downtown Ottawa, starting at the Rideau Mural. Along the way you pass the Lion Dance in Chinatown, the DaVinci Mural in Little Italy, the BLM Mural, the Arlington 5 Art Court and The Living Room, with the story of each piece told in the app.
Is this something I can do in Ottawa today without booking?
Yes. There is no set time slot, so you can start at the Rideau Mural whenever suits you. It takes a little over an hour and is best done during the day, when the murals are easy to see and the puzzles are easier to solve.
Can we do the route by bike or e-scooter?
Yes. The 7.1 km route works on foot, by bicycle or by e-scooter, and riding makes the distance between Chinatown and Little Italy go faster. If you do not have a bike, you can rent one at a shop at 65 Sparks St. before you start.
Is it good for kids?
It is recommended for families, and children enjoy spotting details in the murals to solve each puzzle. The full route is 7.1 km, so it suits school-age kids who can walk or ride that far. You can pause and continue later if little legs get tired.
Can our group play together and take breaks?
Yes. One ticket covers your whole group, so friends or family can follow the route together on their phones. You can pause at any point, stop for a coffee or lunch, and pick up where you left off later.
What’s the storyline here?

You’re EgoNibi, a famous street artist from your homeland (Tunam), where art is banned—and now you're making your Canadian debut. You believe art should change the world. As you explore Ottawa, you’ll hunt for murals that speak truth, dodge interference from Tunam, and prepare your first big gallery show.

Who will dig this most?

People who love color, creativity, and stories on walls. Great for couples wanting something artsy and romantic, friends who enjoy exploring, and tourists looking for local flavor beyond monuments.

Is this good for a date?

Yes, definitely. Wandering through art-covered alleys, stopping in cafés, spotting secret messages in street murals—it’s the kind of date that gives you memories, not just dinner.

Ottawa public-art context

Murals as part of the city’s changing public space

Ottawa supports murals and other public art through municipal programs, while independent artists and neighborhood projects continually change what appears on walls and streets. This quest invites you to observe that evolving outdoor gallery rather than promising a permanent museum collection. Individual works may change after the route is published, which is part of street art’s living character. Playable languages: English, French.
